The synthetic materials are made up of different type of polymers, are called synthetic fibres. These fibres are used to replace in the place of natural fibre materials such as cotton, jute etc., These materials are further developed as thermoset plastic and thermoplastic. The thermoset plastic are once moulded as per the need at the time of manufacturing and it cannot be modified later. example for thermoset plastic is bakelite, invented in 1907 used mainly in telephone receivers, power on / off switches etc. The advantage of this it is a bad conductor and resisting of heat and hard to break or in brittle form. Another form is thermoplastic which can be modify/deface more one time. This plastic is not a good heat resistant. This can be used as sheets, watercan, toys, covers etc., The invention of plastic changed the modern world by complete use in domestic/industrial / social / in simpler, cost effective, colourful and attractive. In today's modern world it is highly unimaginable to live without plastics.
