This cell structure is the vacuoles, which store and transport nutrients, water, solute and cellular waste products. Part of the function of the vacuoles is the hydration of the cell. The content of the vacuole allows the cell to have a larger contact surface between the cytoplasm and its environment which increases the turgor pressure and keeps the cell hydrated.
