John enjoys experimenting with color changing lizards. He places a green lizard on a brown background and a brown lizard on a green background. John knows the green lizard should turn brown and the brown lizard should turn green. Neither lizard changes color. What may have caused John's results?

A. Other factors may be affecting the color change, like fear or temperature.

B. The lizards had to choose to move to the new background for the effect to take place.

C. More time should be allotted to allow for the color change to take place.

D. The backgrounds may have been the wrong shade of color for these specific lizards.
