One symbiotic relationship involving the Golden Lion Tamarin would be the Bromeliaceae and the Golden Lion Tamarin. The Bromeliaceae is the main sources of both the water and food for the Golden Lion Tamarin.

This relationship is one of mutualism because although the Golden Lion Tamarin does consume the Bromeliaceae the Tamarin does not digest the seeds so that when the Golden Lion Tamarin leaves droppings it not only fertilizes the Bromeliaceaes it surrounds it also spreads the Bromeliaceae seeds throughout the jungle.

The second Symbiotic relationship involving the Golden Lion Tamarin is the Liana. This relationship can be described as one of Commensalism. The relationship between the Liana and the Golden Lion Tamarrin is described as commensalism because the Liana is the great climbing tree that is prevalent in the south eastern rain forests of South America.

This is also the tree that the Golden Lion Tamarin makes its nightly shelter in. Because the Golden Lion Tamarin refuses to sleep in the same tree twice in a row, they depend heavily on these trees for protection from predators, and nightly shelter. The Golden Lion Tamarin benefits with a new place to sleep every night, while the Liana remains unaffected by the monkeys that make it their home.
