A strip mining company wants to lease some land that is currently part of a national park. They promise to reclaim the land should any minerals be mined from the area, and they are willing to pay top dollar for the rights. As an ecologist, what factors would you raise with the local government?

    A. The threat to local biodiversity.

    Explanation:

    This is because, when you strip mine you will cause the biodiversity in an area to become lessened. The other questions are more talking about if you were speaking as the company manager, because an ecologist wouldn't be worried about C. and D. is less signifigant in the long run. Then from there A. is definently a more suitable answer.
