    In order for an inherited genetic mutation to result in a phenotypic change for a recessive trait t he mutation must be inherited by both parents.

    A group is recessive if a person needs two O alleles to have the blood group O.

    Dominant inheritance on the other hand is when one allele of a gene is dominant within the pair.
