How could the number of foxes in a meadow affect the number of rabbits that also live there?

    Foxes consume on rabbits, so the more foxes, the more rabbits consumed hence less rabbits. But as a long term effect, if the rabbit population keeps decreasing, then the fox population will eventually start decreasing also as they'd have less food available.

    foxes increase - - > rabbits decrease

    (long term) rabbits decrease - - > foxes decrease
