Hammerhead sharks can reproduce asexually and sexually. Sexually the fertilization is internal, with the male transferring sperm to the female through one of two intromittent organs called claspers. Asexual reproduction can occur when a female's egg is fertilised by an adjacent cell known as a polar body.
