    Collenchyma cells

    Explanation:

Collenchyma cells can be described as the cell type in plants which are characterized for having thick primary walls. These cells are homogenous and elongated. Collenchyma cells tend to provide mechanical support to the plant. Hence, a stem which has to support heavy leaves will have collenchyma cells for providing mechanical support.

Collenchyma cells are usually present in herbaceous stems and in some leaves.
