    Respiration can be described as a process in which glucose and oxygen are used to make to make carbon dioxide and water. Huge amounts of energy in the form of ATP is released during this reaction. Carbon dioxide is released as a by - product of the reaction.

    Glucose gets oxidised in this reaction where as oxygen gets reduced. Hence it is a redox reaction.
