Due to the generally large genome size, multiple sites are employed to start replication in eukaryotic dna replication. both eukaryotic and prokaryotic dna replication have to deal with the the issues of telomeres and replicating the ends of chromosomes. eukaryotic dna has to associate with histones. only eukaryotic dna replication uses single stranded binding proteins to prevent the double helix from reforming during replication. prokaryotic dna replication does not need dna ligase because prokaryotes have a circular chromosome.
