    The color that symbolizes sorrow for sin and repentance and is used during lent is red. This color is shown during on Good Friday during the Holy Week that symbolizes the blood of Jesus Christ as he ask that all sinners must be forgiven before he died. And even though mass are not held on Good Friday, the altars are stripped bare to symbolize our emptiness if Christ is dead and at the same the time, the anticipation of our savior as he is awaken by God the Father.
