The steps in phosphorus:
1. Erosion
2. Fertilization - the phosphorus gets mixed into the soil.
3. Consumption - phosphorus moves through the food chain, plants soak it up through the soil and the animals eat the plants.
4. Decomposition - the animals and plants die and return the phosphorus to the soil.
5. It then returns to the water from the soil
