In 1999 confusion between the use of the English and metric systems resulted in the loss of the Mars Climate Orbiter, which was intended to study that planet's water history. How could costly mistakes like this be avoided in the future?

    Agree on using one system. That way no one would be confused by the measurements and everyone would have the same calculations without having to painfully convert. Preferably the metric since it was designed to be easy
