What is the likely advantage of growing a genetically modified variety of corn that possesses its own pesticide?

    Answer: When consumed it offers more nutrients than the regular variety.

    The corn will be able to repel disease and insects that would otherwise be able to damage or kill the corn plant. The corn will not require any pesticide to do this, so it saves the grower of that corn money that would have been spent on pesticide.
