Why would siRNA be prefered over a chemical inhibitor that targets the same molecule? A) The siRNA will bind to more than just one sequence and result in various inhibitions. B) The specificity of the chemical inhibitor is high and not a desirable trait C) SiRNA is stable and will stay around forever where a chemical inhibitor is short lived. D) Off argets of chemical inhibition may occur where siRNA is specific to a desired mRNA. E) None of the above MacBook Air

    D) Off argets of chemical inhibition may occur whereas siRNA is specific to a desired mRNA

    Explanation:

For clean supression of a protein, it is advisable to use small interfering RNAs (siRNAs). Although, chemical inhibition uses many chemical compounds which may directly bind with the protein and cause its inhibition; but they can also have many off-target effects. siRNA technique specifically degrades the target mRNA that specifies the protein.
