Nucleotides, and their structure in DNA is a double stranded helix, each nucleotide consisting of a phosphate bonded to a sugar (deoxyribose in DNA and Ribose in RNA), held by a covalent bond, and a nitrogen base which is either ATCG in DNA or AUCG in RNA, which is connected to the other strand by a weak hydrogen bond
