    Explanation:

    mRNA is a messanger RNA which carries genetic information from the DNA to ribosomes which will be converted into protein

    The production of mRNA occurs when DNA undergoes a process called transcription.

    During transcription, the DNA double helix unwinds where the DNA strands will now serve as a template for the mRNA strands to form.

    An enzyme called RNA polymerase will then add complementary RNA nucleotides to the DNA strands.

    So instead of the nucleotide thymime which is in the DNA template, the RNA template will now contain uracil.

    Once the mRNA strand is formed it will then move to the ribosome where it will be translated into protein.
