    A spinal injury can be defined as the damage that occurs to the spinal cord. It may cause temporary or permanent changes in the functioning of the spinal cord. The symptoms of spinal cord injury involves loss of functioning of muscles, autonomic functioning of the parts and loss of sensation. The brain responses may also get affected due to spinal cord injury.

    According to the situation, the person might have fall on the bottom of the water body and could have hitted his back, neck or head. This might have disturbed the spinal cord of the person.
