Inverse process to the concentration of the population that consists of the progressive exit of population (set of individuals of the same species) from the major populated centers in order to occupy new areas of generally agricultural land. It is an increasingly rare process, due to the progressive shortage of areas of low population density. It should not be confused with that of dispersed population, since dispersion refers to the action of dispersal, while dispersed population is a type of habitat.
