Your class went out to Government Canyon State Park, and each group had to measure the size and density of organisms in a 1m2 area (A). Your group counted 10 daisies in your first quadrat (B), and they covered about 5% of your plot (C). You took your data back to lab and compared it with other lab groups. Out of the 12 plots examined, only 8 had daisies in them (D). You found that your lab section as a whole counted 71 daisies total in 12m2 (E), and they covered a total of 7% of the area of all of the plots (F).

    A signifies quadrant sampling.

    B signifies density.

    C signifies percentage coverage as it is the average estimate of the area the species covers in a quadrant.

    D signifies frequency as frequency = no of plots in which sample is found/total no of plots.

    E signifies average density. As density = number of plants per square meter.

    F signifies average percentage coverage
