How can you determine that a star is about to turn into a red giant?

A. When a large amount of hydrogen has been turned into helium

B. When a large amount of helium is turned into hydrogen

C. When the star falls into the sun

D. When the pressure inside the star exceeds its temperature

idk what subject this is so I'm putting it under biology
