The oldest rocks are on the bottom and the rocks become progressively younger toward the top. explain why this is the case?

    Because water erodes the rocks on top and the rocks deep beneath will never get eroded because of the rocks on top being eroded so there is alwayds fresh rock

    Because as time moves forwards different organisms from different characteristics stack up on top of each other
