Decomposers break down their bodies. The decomposers use the carbon stored in the bodies of dead organisms for their own bodies, and also release carbon as carbon dioxide into the atmosphere through cellular respiration

Detrivores like worms and other decomposers break their bodies down then the carbon releases. Making clean air for us because plants breath in carbon dioxide and they breath out clean air
