Out of the 5 given options for the given question

option c) ketone bodies can be converted to glucose

    is correct

    Explanation:

The statemen that ketone bodies can be converted to glucose is false.

Ketosis is a metabolic process and occurs when the body is deficient in glucose to produce energy, it starts to burn body fat that is stored and leads to the acid build up known as ketones inside the body.

In this process, blood level of these ketone bodies is increased as a result of uncontrolled diabetes or starvation.

Ketone bodies formed, during starvation are used by muscle cells and brain cells as a fuel for energy production.

No enzyme in human body is able to convert oxaloacetate (OAA). Thus not able to produce OAA does not allow entry to Gluconeogenesis reactions
