These are the steps of the scientific method.
Before a laboratory experiment:
1. Make an observation
2. Make a hypothesis. A hypothesis is like a prediction.
Experiment:
3. Step three is testing your experiment based on your hypothesis. Be sure there is only one variable in the experiment otherwise your results could be for any number of reasons.
After experimentation:
4. Draw a conclusion. Is your hypothesis valid based on the results of your experiment.
