    The type of cartilage which forms each body cartilage includes;

    1. Fibrocartilage. It is a thick bundle of collagen in ECM. There is no perichondrium. It is located in the articular discs. Its work is to support and join structures together. It is the strongest type of cartilage.

    2. Elastic cartilage.

    It is a threadlike network of fibers in ECM. It is located in the tip of nose and ear. It works is to elasticity and strengthen and maintains shape.

    3. Hyaline cartilage.

    It has chondrocytes in lacunae and in the outer layer is covered with perichondrium. Its work is to provide flexibility, support weakest and shock absorption. It is located in the fetal skeleton, tip of nose and end of bones.
