Evaluate the age of rocks. You find 3 undisturbed rock layers. The middle layer is 120 years old. What can you say about the ages of the layers above and below it?

    The layers above would be not as old and the layers below would be the older layers.

    The lowest layers of rocks would be the oldest. The lower you go the older the layers of rocks go. As you go up the rocks get younger.
