When the rabbit ran away from the dog, the rabbit just performed cellular respiration in which it utilizes energy in the form of ATP to carry out the process of running. The energy it uses is first produced by the first step in respiration called glycolysis. The glucose stored is metabolized to produce ATP used for desired processes.
