Well, the water cycle works like this.

    1. Water is evaporated from oceans and seas.

    2. The water molecules cluster together to form clouds.

    3. It rains, and the water falls back to earth.

    4. The water soaks into the ground and the rest goes into lakes, rivers, streams, etc. etc.

    5. The water from the rivers and lakes drains into the oceans and seas, where the water is evaporated again.

So, where does the sun come into play? Well, what evaporates the water from the oceans? The Sun of course! That's where the sun comes into play in the water cycle.
