A 19-year-old sexually active college student presents for evaluation of a vaginal discharge. She has been in a monogamous relationship since becoming sexually active. She denies that he has been unfaithful. She denies fever or chills. She states that the discharge is thick white and curdlike and although there is no bad odor she does experience some itching. Upon physical examination of the vagina you see an inflamed vulva with a slightly red vaginal mucosa. The discharge is thick and white. There is no cervical motion tenderness. The uterus is normal in size without adnexal masses. Based on this information what is your most likely diagnosis?

    Candidiasis in the vagina is also called vaginal yeast infection, vaginal candidiasis, vulvovaginal candidiasis anf candidal vaginitis. Vaginal candidiasis symptom is usually itching in the vagina or soreness, sharp pain during sex, pain when urinating, vaginal discharge that is way abnormal. The symtoms are slow, mild in few women but can be a serious infections that's makes vagina red, swollen and cracks is visible vagina wl. diagnosis of Candida vaginitis is suggested clinically by the presence of external dysuria and vulvar pruritus, pain, swelling, and redness.

    Candidal vulvovaginitis is as a result of inflammatory changes in vaginal. Candida is in normal flora part in most women and asymptomatic in most cases.
