When it comes to hybrids, it is easier to work with plants than with animals because in plants there is sexual reproduction, the life cycles are shorter and making crosses between them is simple and the results can be seen quickly.

    Explanation:

A hybrid is the product of crossing organisms with pure traits of the same species, with different characteristics, where is observed the results in terms of their physical appearance.

In the organisms of the plant kingdom it is relatively easy to make genetic crosses and observe the results of the hybridization because they have the capacity to reproduce sexually, it is simple to make the crosses and the results can be observed in a short time, because they have short reproductive cycles, compared to the animals.

When Mendel started the studies of heredity, he first used animal models such as mice, but then he used organisms with shorter reproductive cycles, such as bees and plants. In the end, plants proved to be the most suitable organisms to cross with each other and observe the results more quickly.
