Pepsin is the main gastric enzyme. It is only produced by the stomach cells which people call 'chief cells' in its inactive form pepsinogen, which is a zymogen. Pepsinogen is then activated by the stomach acid and into its active form which is known as pepsin.
The types of hormones in the human stomah is Gastrin and cholecystokinin.
