How has convergent evolution shaped marsupial diversity?

    Convergent evolution is when two similar species (or some part of the species) have evolved through different branches but that fulfill the same function. In the case of marsupials, they are placental mammals that live in Australia. But they are different from placental mammals that live in South America.
