Homeostasis is the process in which the body's functions are in equilibrium, meaning it is all balanced and no external or internal factors are affecting how all the organ systems are working.

A 2nd degree burn could affect the body's homeostasis because of the excessive release of white blood cells that would become responsible for tissue repair. Aside from this, the nerves and blood vessels that have been damaged due to the burns would affect the concentration of blood supply within the body because the body will send out more blood to that damaged area in order for it to heal quickly.
