    Explanation: a crater is a rough opening on a solid surface, it might be circular or any shape. The major factor that determines the shape of a crater is the mass and velocity of the impactor like the meteorite. When an impactor hits a solid surface, it breaks out in all director irrespective of the shape of the impactor. We have simple and complex craters depending on the impact strength.
