Let's tag the person with a disorder as "aa" as he has both recessive alleles. The carrier is "Aa" which means he has one dominant allele and one recessive allele. Crossing Aa x aa will yield 2Aa and 2aa which means there is a 50% chance that their offspring will have sickle cell anemia and 50% chance that their offspring will become a carrier.
