Absolute dating provides the accurate age of a fossil which relative dating cannot.

    Explanation:

Two methods of dating falls under the study of geology, one is absolute and the other is relative dating. Both the processes evaluate the period and age of a rock or fossil.

In the absolute process the age in number of a sample rock can be determine and relative process determines the relative age by observing the surrounding layers.

Absolute one is performed with various methods, like - radiometric dating, amino acid dating etc. and relative involves - stratigraphy, cross dating etc.
