Traumatic brain injuries may result in damage to the blood vessels in the spaces between the meninges. These damaged blood vessels leak blood into either the subdural or subarachnoid spaces - a potentially deadly condition called a subdural or subarachnoid hemorrhage. Why is this condition so dangerous?

Any injury that includes the brain or skull is a dangerous condition. In a subdural or subarachnoid hemmorrahge or hematoma, bloods that leaks from the blood vessels pool around the subdural or sucarachnoid spaces will occupy the space supposedly for the brain. This in turn create high pressure to the brain. This high pressure in the skull damages the brain tissues. If not treated promptly will cause coma, paralysis and death.
