    It is important that the nurse develops a relationship with the client based on empathy and trust and to promote understanding for its state. The nurse should not respond as if the hallucinations are real. For example, she shouldn't argue back to voices that the person may be hearing. On the other hand, the nurse should not deny the person's experience.
