    Our cells need energy to perform their functions. ATP is a energy source for cells in our body. When a cell needs energy, ATP (Triphosphate) is broken down into ADP (Diphosphate), then energy is released.

    6 Glucose + 6oxygen molecule break down to form 6carbon dioxide 6 water molecules and 38 ATP
