How long does it take a newborn calf to start running and why?

    A newborn calf can (typically) walk and run on its own within a time period ranging to 10 minutes, to a couple hours after birth, and at most, 24 hours afterwards. Reason for this being that a healthy calf will have gotten enough colostrum from their mother to be able to fair well on their own.
