Element A combines with Element B at a ratio of 2:1 to make a particular substance. If you have 10 grams of element A in the substance, how many grams of element B are present?

Remember that a ratio of 2:1 of Element A to Element B means there's twice the amount of Element A as there is Element B

    Mass of B

    =10g/2

    =5g

    10:5 = 2:1
