The IUDs are the size of a quarter or smaller and are of T shape. They are formed of flexible plastic. They cannot get administer on their own like pills and other birth control procedures, it needs the assistance of a medical professional who will administer it into the uterus of a woman.

An intrauterine device made up of copper creates an obstruction, which inhibits sperm to interact with the ovum. These devices are among the most low-maintenance kinds of birth control and are regarded as more than 99 percent efficient.

However, in the case of women with painful and heavy periods, the copper device, that is, IUDs may not be the ideal option, as it can result in a heavier or longer period.
