    Organism such as Protists reproduces through two modes namely sexual and asexual. In former, two parent of different sex are involved in reproduction process whereas in latter single parent is involved. The asexual reproduction mode in Protists includes binary and multiple fission; and budding.

    Conjugation and generation alternation are examples of sexual mode of reproduction in Protists. The advantage of having two reproduction modes is that, due to involvement of two parents sexual reproduction increases genetic diversity whereas as asexual reproduction in very simple process it occurs more rapidly.
