H. pylori infection of the stomach such as ulcers, which can also lead to stomach cancer, is caused by the bacteria called Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). These gram-negative bacteria, that have a helical shape, enter the body and are mostly found in the digestive tract. One of such drugs is Helidac, which contains an anti-infective drug (bismuth), an antibiotic drug (tetracycline), and an antiprotozoal drug (metronidazole) in a combined form, used in killing H. pylori as well as reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to enable the stomach lining heal properly.
