Explanation:

First of all, lets consider the population number in both years;

The initial population is 1200, and

Final population is 3700.

Total increased population is (3700 - 1200) = 2500

So 2500 population were increased in (2006 - 2004) = 2 years.

To find the annual growth rate: (Increased population / time span in years) = 2500/2 = 1250 per year. Hence 1250 population was added per year in walleye from 2004 to 2006.
