Is phytoplankton and algae the same thing?

    Debris is the remains of something that has been destroyed or broken up. however, plankton is the aggregate of small plant and animal organisms that float or drift in great numbers in fresh or salt water. its the same, debris can be non living or living while plankton cab only be a living thing
