What structures in the brain must develop by the age of ~4yrs old in order to form lasting memories?

    By the age of 4 the hippo campus and the frontal lobe must be developed to have good memory. The hippocampus forms the limbic system and is involved in the consolidation of memory from the short term to long term. The frontal lobe is important in forming short term memories and forming long term memories.
