One of the main differences between prokaryotes and wukaryotes is that the last ones have a nucleus and organelles with their own membranes. This carachteristic allow them to organize into multicellular organisms isolating different processes (enzymes, reactants) making them easier to manage and more efficient due to the smaller volume that increase the rate of reactions.
